What is NEET UG?

NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates) is the gateway exam for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. Conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), NEET UG is a single entrance test for MBBS, BDS, and other medical programs in various government and private medical colleges in India.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the examination year. The upper age limit is 25 years (30 years for reserved categories).
  • Education: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: For general candidates, 50% marks are required in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) aggregate; for SC/ST/OBC candidates, it is 40%.

NEET UG Attempts

General category candidates can attempt NEET UG a maximum of three times. There is no limit on the number of attempts for SC/ST/OBC candidates as long as they meet the age criteria.
