What is TET?

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a national or state-level exam conducted to assess the eligibility of candidates aspiring to become teachers in government schools. The exam ensures that teachers meet the essential qualifications and possess the required skills.

Eligibility Criteria for TET

• For Primary Teachers (Class 1-5): Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a Diploma in Elementary Education or equivalent.
• For Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6-8): Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed) or equivalent.
• Nationality: Indian citizen.

TET Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the TET exam. Candidates can appear as many times as required to improve their score or meet eligibility criteria.
