The Dulari Kanya Scheme, launched by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh in 2016, aims to promote gender equality and child welfare. The scheme provides financial assistance by depositing ₹20,000 in a fixed deposit in the name of a girl child born in a government or government-recognized private hospital. This amount is accessible to the child upon reaching 18 years of age, along with interest accrued.
Eligibility includes families belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, and the girl must be born in an institutional setting within Arunachal Pradesh. A maximum of two live girl children per family can benefit from the scheme. To apply, parents or guardians must submit necessary documents like birth certificates and the MCP card.
In 2025, the state government enhanced the scheme as part of a broader effort to improve socio-economic conditions for girls, further empowering them for a better future.
