Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar criticized the western countries for cherry-picking principles to suit their interests. He said, "The world is complex, with numerous important principles and beliefs." He further added, "the nations are often emphasized on certain principles selectively, based on their immediate needs." Jaishankar said, "Post-independence, India has faced aggression and boundary challenges." He highlighted that specific principles without considering broader contexts can be misleading.
