The man who turned a desert into a forest by planting trees every day for 40 years is Jadav "Molai" Payeng, also known as the
"Forest Man of India". He is from Majuli, Assam, India, and planted trees on a sandbar of the Brahmaputra river, transforming it into a large forest reserve.
