At the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati, both Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced significant investments of Rs 50,000 crore each in Assam. These commitments aim to bolster the state's economic landscape and infrastructure.
Gautam Adani highlighted the transformative impact of investor summits over the past two decades, noting their pivotal role in India's economic growth. He emphasized that such initiatives have consistently exceeded expectations, contributing substantially to the nation's development.
Mukesh Ambani, on the other hand, underscored Assam's emerging talent pool. He remarked that with the state's youth making strides in technology and other sectors, AI could soon stand for 'Assam Intelligence'. This reflects the potential of Assam's youth in the evolving technological landscape.
The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and witnessed participation from top industry leaders and global business delegations. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned that the state cabinet had approved investment proposals worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore, which are expected to be formalized during the summit.
These substantial investments by two of India's leading conglomerates are poised to accelerate Assam's development trajectory, fostering economic growth and creating numerous employment opportunities in the region.
