यह नदी उत्तराखंड राज्य के उत्तरकाशी जिले में स्थित गंगोत्री हिमनद से भागीरथी के नाम से निकलती है कुल लम्बाई 2525 KM यह नदी उत्तराखंड में 310km , UP में 1140KM , बिहार में 455KM , और पश्चिम बंगाल में 520KM तय करती है 

गोमुख → गंगोत्री → देवप्रयाग → ऋषिकेश → हरिद्वार → कानपुर → इलाहाबाद (प्रयागराज) → वाराणसी → पटना → भागलपुर → फरक्का → मुर्शिदाबाद → कोलकाता → बंगाल की खाड़ी
