This method has shown promise in various settings, including ponds and lakes, by enhancing water quality without the adverse effects associated with chemical treatments. Public education and community involvement are also vital components of algae prevention. Educating the public about the impacts of over-fertilization, proper disposal of waste, and the importance of maintaining natural vegetation buffers around water bodies can lead to more environmentally conscious behaviors that reduce nutrient pollution.
