The Karnataka government has launched the 'Clean Mobility Policy 2025-2030,' aiming to transform the state into Asia’s top clean mobility hub. With a focus on green energy industries, the policy includes electric vehicles (EVs), green hydrogen, and ammonia, aiming for significant growth in these sectors. The state plans to attract ₹50,000 crore in investments, create one lakh jobs, and introduce 2,600 new EV charging stations to bolster the adoption of clean transportation. In addition to electric vehicles, the policy supports hybrid vehicles, offering tax incentives and subsidies to increase their use. The development of world-class mobility clusters in Gauribidanur, Dharwad, and Harohalli is set to bring together manufacturers, suppliers, and research centers. The policy also provides financial benefits, including 25% capex subsidies for projects in Karnataka, with Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural receiving a 20% capex subsidy. The state’s commitment to sustainable transportation aligns with its broader goal of reducing carbon emissions and promoting cleaner air. With tax exemptions, financial support for R&D, and infrastructure development, Karnataka is positioned to lead the transition to green mobility, attracting both domestic and international investors. The policy aims to further Karnataka's goals of becoming a global leader in clean transportation and environmental sustainability.
